Got some Sidi Eagles. Tried on some nice Shimano shoes, then tried the Sidi’s and the difference was bleeding obvious. Well. I”ve always wanted a pair of Sidi’s right from when I used to race 25 years ago and they were pretty much the new cool and very Italian shoes on the block. Don’t think I’ve got the cleats quite right yet for my right foot, bit of soreness to the outside of my foot though it seems to disappear after a couple of hours. Only had two rides on them but early review, bloody comfortable, and since I’ve moved from street Shimano’s that are very soft souled the stiffness is welcome and obvious.
Got them from the Elizabeth Street branch of Brunswick Street Cycles, currently probably my preferred bike shop at the moment. They only had one pair, in the size I needed, and after a request from me chucked in $45 worth of cleats for free which I thought was decent of them.

When you get new cycling shoes and set them up with your cleats, it is always worth checking your pedals (axles) for any damage, as this can sometimes be the cause of knee pain, as you describe.
Or you might have just set your cleats wrong!!
